Kilroy Travels on maps, virtual worlds and review sites

Kilroy Travel could use google maps to increase their sales. They could make their every travel destinations an adds or sponsorlinks to the search results. Kilroy don`t have very many destinations so it would`t be too big investment. There is already many of online hotel reservation companies doing adversation like this on google maps like for example hotels.com, but why not also tour operators do this…There is so many people who use google maps to get know their holiday or travel destinations before the trip. Many people want to see little bit of the places and cities before the trip and google maps gives the perfect opportunity for this, because they have the city view on the ground level. Google maps would be better investment to Kilroy than the basic google search engine, because maps are the thing when we talk about travel and destinations!
Kilroy Travel could be in SecondLife virtual world like in real and have their travel agencies there. In SecondLife there is already many clothing and music shops, but why not also travel agency? It would be fun and interesting for sure. For point of view of marketing it would be definitely at least memorable to the user of SecondLife.
Kilroy could advertise in review sites like TripAdvisor with at least their new trip packages or some seasonal discount prices. Review sites are good target to market because people use them a lot when they want to find out new fascinating places to travel.

Kilroy Travels on social media and media sharing

Over the searching resulted that, Kilroy travels has expanded widely on network communities and social media. It has own community on Facebook, there are many follower on twitter, and the media sharing contains lot of material about their trips especially on YouTube and Facebook. For example in Facebook, you can find lot of pictures and videos from destination, new event and trip package information, allotments and sweepstakes, and Facebook is really good place to see what the people think and share about the destinations. Only thing what they could improve is to use more imagination. I found some few applications, for example the Kilroy Blog, which is good, but they should maybe invent more different kind of apps, which can be used also through mobile devices. Or how about “Kilroy Game”, where you can simulate the trip that you have planned?

Kilroy is doing really well on social media. It has so so powerful activity and so many people are connected to it. But there are some new social media tool such as Google+, where the Kilroy is not so participated, but it depends also how the SNS-tool’s usage is, so it would be good if Kilroy will look up for more different kinds of media sharing and social media tool, and make the information available everywhere.

Kilroy doesn’t use any kind of banners and pop-ups, so when they have some seasonal discount prices or new trip packages, I think they should promote it by using some display advertisements. It’s very good way to highlight the company’s product and definitely some people interests to the ad. Nowadays the QR codes are coming up also in Finland. If they have some advertisements outdoors, for example on their office window, or some posters in the city, QR is a great addition to search more information about the company and its offerings.

About the encyclopedias and dictionaries, especially in Wikipedia, the Kilroy’s information is very scarce. I also searched by Google and the Wikipedia page didn’t show up. Kilroy should improve their Wikipedia page by adding more information, and about the language option, it’s only in English and Danish, so they should also offer more varieties in languages, because Kilroy has its activity also in other European countries.

SLIDESHARE

SLIDESHARE is also powerful tool to present the company itself=)

Kilroy Travels on the Internet

Kilroy Travels doesn’t have any augmented reality programs for example on a mobile phone. The augmented reality program could help travelers to explore the place they are at on their trip more. The mobile app, could show specific details about the city or nature where the traveler is located in the world. For example it could tell the name of a flower in the rain forest. Just put your camera towards the flower and the program would tell you which flower it is.
Kilroy could use Skype to draw more travelers to buy a trip from them. The trip leader in Peru for example, could have a web camera on his/her helmet, while climbing a mountain. The camera could show the viewers at home what kind of destination Peru really is. And they could make their travel plans in reference to the Skype video.
You can only buy trips to Kilroy only from Kilroy’s website on the Internet. We think that Kilroy would probably sell more trips if you could by trips from other suppliers also.
Kilroy doesn’t have any loyal customer service. Or it doesn’t show on their website. Kilroy would probably have more loyal and new customers if they would have a membership opportunity. Always if you book a trip you could get a trip for a little cheaper price for example. And for member there could be a service that sends e-mails or texts whenever there is a new discount or campaign going on.
Kilroy has a blog on their website where anyone can go write a story about their tirp, you just have to sign in. We think that having their own blog is very good, so that other travelers can go read about others experiences and have real life examples from a trip.
